Hi all,

I've just accepted a short term assignment in Singapore - will be leaving week of Feb. 19th, and returning in early May. I'll be working on a new global launch for the TSG business at HP, and helping to deliver all the new messages and communications materials into the APJ region. In the past two years I've had the chance to travel to Japan on two short trips, only to Tokyo, but my interest and fascination with this region is keen. I've traveled in many countries throughout the world, but not extensively in Asia Pacific. Thus I am keely interested in the varied and diverse cultures throughout this region. While living in Singapore for a few months, I may have the chance to travel to both Japan and Korea from Singapore. This will be very interesting because I will be a living and traveling in the region rather than traveling to and from the region on short term business. The trip to Seoul, Korea will be my first time to that country, so I am really looking forward to meeting the HP team there in person, and to seeing the vitatlity of the country firsthand. I'm told that Singapore is very modern, clean and safe, hosting many diverse cultures in the region. The food is supposed to be wonderful (oh boy, that will be a challenge to maintain my weightloss path), but I'll also be continuing my gym routine when I get there. The weather is hot and humid, so I am preparing to take light clothing. English is the main language so there should be little barriers on that front. All in all, this is going to be a wonderful adventure, and I look forward to keeping you posted on the weekly details of my experience with posts and photos for you to enjoy. That's all for now, and I'll provide more details when I get closer to leaving, and then when I arrive.

If you have any tips on places to go, things to do, food to eat in Singapore, please email me at chaninca@aol.com and give me a head's up so I can add to my list of things to do.

Cheers,
Channing
